Robert Hanss, Founder and President
Bob Hanss is founder and president of the award-winning landscape construction firm Robert Hanss Inc. Throughout his 35-year career, Bob Hanss has been commissioned by distinguished landscape architects and designers to oversee the construction of some of the finest gardens in Massachusetts. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University and is a registered landscape architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Bob is involved in every stage of the building process from developing the most efficient sequence of construction to sourcing plants and building materials. He brings the high-touch attention to detail, quality and rigorous standards that have earned Robert Hanss Inc. its reputation as one of the leading landscape construction firms in New England, recognized through awards by both the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Boston Society of Landscape Architects.

Mark Pattin, Project Manager
As a project manager with Robert Hanss Inc., Mark brings a strong design and technical background that ensures a project’s design intent will be successfully carried through from concept through construction. Before joining the firm, Mark was an associate with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, where he was responsible for design development and construction administration on a wide range of campus, public and private projects. Mark holds degrees in horticulture and landscape design and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Rutgers University.

John LaFlamme, Project Manager
With more than 25 years of experience, John brings an extensive background in masonry and hardscape construction. Good communication is key to his success, and he strives to build close working relationships with clients, designers, crews and subcontractors. This collaborative approach helps ensure that client and designer expectations are met and that the construction team builds an exceptional project. Trained by some of the area’s finest artisans, John is skilled in masonry techniques from walls to flatwork and is familiar with every aspect of building complex projects.
